Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026. This covers two things: the DayRecall desktop app and the dayrecall.xyz website.
The DayRecall app
- Activity (foreground apps, window titles, browser URLs and tab titles, time spent, and optional DeepMemory sensor data) is stored in a local SQLite database on your PC.
- There is no account, no cloud sync and no background upload of your activity.
- It never takes screenshots or records keystrokes.
- The app goes online only to check for updates, to set up local AI, to re-open articles you read so it can summarize them on your PC, and — only if you configure it — to reach a cloud AI provider such as OpenAI. In that case the prompts and context you send leave your machine and are governed by that provider’s policy.
- You can pause tracking, delete any date range, export your data, and restore local backups. Uninstalling or upgrading never touches your database, backups or settings.
The website
Analytics
The site uses a cookieless pageview and download counter. It sets no cookies, honors Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control, and runs no cross-site trackers. Counts use a short-lived hashed visitor identifier plus coarse browser/device type and country.
Release-update email
If you enter your email to be notified of releases, we store the email address, the page you were on, your referrer and any UTM campaign tags, together with coarse technical data (browser type, country). We use it only to send release announcements — about one email per release. Giving your email is optional; the download works either way.
Feedback form
Ratings and messages you submit, plus the optional name and email you choose to include, are stored privately so the maker can read them.
The TabPark browser extension
- TabPark (dayrecall.xyz/tabpark) stores parked tab URLs, titles, favicons, snoozed tabs and settings in chrome.storage.local on your device only.
- There is no account, no cloud sync and no transmission of browsing data to any server, including dayrecall.xyz.
- Permissions are used only for the single stated purpose: tabs (list/close tabs you park), storage (local sessions), alarms (wake snoozed tabs), contextMenus (right-click park), bookmarks (only when you click Import). All extension scripts are bundled in the package; no remote code.
- Uninstalling the extension removes its local data. Use the Dashboard → Backup JSON to keep your own copy.
Your choices
- You can ask to see or delete your stored email or feedback, or unsubscribe from release emails, at any time.
- Contact: open an issue on GitHub or message on LinkedIn.
